Practical
On successful completion of the Manager as Coach programme (20 HE credits) graduates will be able to practically and effectively apply learning and coaching skills in the workplace to:-
1) differentiate coaching from other 'helping skills'
2) apply the skills and disciplines associated with coaching
3) use different coaching models
4) have a deeper understanding of people and patterns of behaviour
5) understand how coaching fits with other skills and styles of management
Graduates of the Business and Executive Coaching Certificate (60 HE credits) will, in addition, be able to:-
6) identify and overcome obstacles to positive growth and development
7) use more advanced coaching models
8) use coaching to impact on organisational culture and transformational change
Academic
On successful completion of the Manager as Coach programme (20 HE credits) graduates will be able to academically:-
1) demonstrate a knowledge and critical understanding of definitions of coaching and theories and concepts relating to coaching
2) critically evaluate the situations and circumstances where it is appropriate to use coaching
3) critically reflect on their own learning and development from their experience as a coach and as a coachee
Graduates of the Business and Executive Coaching Certificate (60 HE credits) will, in addition, demonstrate:-
4) a thorough and critical understanding of the application of the principles of coaching, key coaching skills and the benefits of using various coaching models
5) a critically informed understanding of the role of the coach in the coaching relationship and the application of appropriate tools and strategies to maximise the effectiveness of coaching
6) flexibility and creativity in selecting and applying appropriate elements of coaching to create change, motivation and results for the coachee
7) knowledge and critical understanding of theories and models that enable culture change / organisational transformation and effective coaching practice
8) original and critical thinking in development and application of all aspects of coaching to enable individual and organisational change
